True Love Part 6 “True Love Loves First”

“True Love Loves First”

We don’t want people to attend Buffalo Valley for the sake of _________________ but for the sake of ________________.

True love is love that comes from ______________, not from _____________.

We cannot ________________ true love, rather we can _______________ true love.

God was willing to love me _______________.

1 John 4:19,

19 We love because he first loved us

 Romans 5:6-8

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John defines love by a person, _______________.

1 John 4:9-11

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Our command is not to ____________ up the love of God but to ____________ the love of God with others.

Jesus is both an ________________ and an ________________ of true love.

John 13:34-35

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Jesus didn’t ____________ love lessons…He ____________ love lessons.

Am I willing to love first?

Loving first shows _______________________.

So often our approach to love is ________________ and        not ________________.

If there is ________ way you can see love coming    _________ way…love ________ way.

Loving first shows ___________________.

My __________________on loving you is not connected to      your ___________________ on loving me because I’m in ___________________ to receive love from God.

1 John 4:12-16

12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

I am ____________ to love you because I am not       ________________ by your reaction.

Jesus was extremely _______________ in His Father’s            love.

As God’s true love _________________ me, I am able to          _______________ others in true love.
