“Peace”- Part 2

Got Peace?

Romans 12:18:  If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Four Principles of Conflict

1.  ______________  God.

2.  Get the _________ out of your eye.

3.  Go and __________ your brother his fault.

4.  Go and be ____________________.

Big Idea:  I glorify God in conflict when I ______________ Him, ______________ Him and ______________ Him.

Conflict is ________________ but conflict can be _________________.

Every instance of conflict is an opportunity to _______________ the ________________ and ______________ of God to yourself and others.

Like conflict, peace is found from ______________ to ________________.

Peace was a huge _____________ of the ministry of Jesus.  John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Big Idea:  God desires that I have peace with __________, peace with _______________ and peace with  _________________.

Peace with God

We do not ______________ at peace with God.  Romans 8:5-8

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

We have an ________________ of peace.  1 Peter 5:8

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.Peace With Others

1.  Peace with others is a _________________ with God.  Matthew 5:23-24

23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

God often ______________ our relationship with others       to our relationship with Him.

2.  Peace with others is a ________________ that’s difficult.

Every letter in the New Testament contains at least        one _______________ to live at peace with one another.

Ephesians 4:1-3

4 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Do I have a “plenty of friends in the sea” approach?

Peace With Self

Peace with self is a _________________ of peace with God and others.

Should you attempt to forgive ___________________?

In our culture the idea of “forgiving yourself” leaves      ___________ out of the picture.

You cannot _____________ yourself forgiveness…but you    can _______________ forgiveness for yourself.

Like forgiveness, peace is a ____________ from God.

Isaiah 26:3,

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

            Isaiah 32:17,

The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.

            Isaiah 48:18

If only you had paid attention to my commands,  your peace would have been like a river,  your well-being like the waves of the sea.
