Where’s Your Strength?

Psalm 52 is supposedly written with an evil man in mind. David writes about some of the characteristics of this man including a lying and deceitful tongue. Then David writes this in verse 7: “Here is the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness”. This man David had in mind made a choice, a choice to “strengthen” himself in his own wickedness instead of making God his strength. Unfortunately, I think this is a pretty easy thing for most of us to do. What in our lives do we draw strength from? We would like to say “God” but is He really the source of our strength? For many it’s not God; rather it is money, or position or health or appearance. These are the attributes that “hold us up” during our lives, not the strength of God. I hope you will consider making God your strength; allowing Him to undergird you with His love and power. You won’t be disappointed and you will definitely be strong
