What or Who Is Your Anchor?

Near the end of Hebrews 6 we read this: 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil. The hope that is being talked about is the hope of the blessing of God, perhaps also referring to eternal life. This hope is referred to as an “anchor of the soul”. This hope is said to be both sure and steadfast. I think all of us know what the purpose of an anchor is. The anchor holds the boat in place and is heavy enough to do the job, even in the midst of a storm. What is your anchor? What holds you in place, even in the midst of the inevitable storms of life? God desires to be that anchor for you. He can hold you in a way that ensures that your “ship” will stay steadfast and sure. Please don’t attempt to anchor your life on human relationships, a job, or anything else that won’t truly work. These things are not “heavy” enough or durable enough to serve as anchors. As you sail through life, please remain anchored to the hope you have in Jesus Christ.
