What Are You Serving to God?

If you knew the governor was coming to your house to dinner what would you serve? Would you serve cereal? Would you serve something that has been sitting in the crisper drawer for a couple of months? No, if a really important person is coming to dinner you are going to do your best to make sure that what you serve is first class. Well, God wants what we “serve” Him to be first class as well.

We’ve entered the last book of the Old Testament, the book of Malachi. In this book God is bringing the wood to the priests who have been going through the motions in their worship. In chapter 1 God talks about the fact that the priests were serving the blind/lame/sick animals as an offering. Let’s read God’s words here: And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, Is it not evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, Is it not evil? Offer it then to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you favorably?” Says the Lord of hosts.  God wants us to offer Him our best because He is the best. What are you offering to God of your time, talent and treasure? Does God get your best? I hope so.
