What Are You Preparing Today?

Preparation is important isn’t it?  If you are going to build a project you need to prepare the material and the instructions.  If you are going to plant a garden, you need to prepare the ground.  The success of many projects is directly linked to the quality of the preparation.  In Ezra chapter 7 we read this about Ezra: 10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel. Ezra was gathering people to return to Jerusalem to finish the work and to teach the law of God to those who were already there. While there, Ezra makes many reforms and the people turn to the ways of God. When I read chapter 7 I was struck by verse 10. I think verse 10 is a good job description for all of us. Today we have so many resources at our disposal to learn and understand the word of God. It is “easier” today than ever to become a student of the word of God. Yet, the key is in the first phrase of the verse, “Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord and to do it”. Have you prepared your heart in this way? Hopefully reading this little blog each day helps you to do that. I hope that you will choose to prepare your heart, to put yourself in God’s hands each and every day.
