Transformation

Romans 12:1-2 is one of my favorite pair of sentences in the Bible.  The truth that is contained here is amazing.  Yesterday we discussed that we present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God; which is our reasonable service.  Today’s verse follows that quite nicely:  “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”.   I prefer to focus on the second phrase over the first.  I think that if we allow God to transform us by renewing our minds, we won’t really have to worry too much about not being conformed to this world. If a person focuses on “not being conformed to the world” then there will be a constant struggle.  Not doing something wrong is much more difficult than doing something right.  The Holy Spirit will transform you by renewing your mind, by giving you the mind of Christ.  With that, you and I can accomplish the will of God; no matter what that entails.  Are you participating with the transforming process of the Spirit in your life?  You won’t regret it.  You will greatly benefit from it.
