The Walk Is Important

Let’s read the first paragraph of the fourth chapter of 1 Thessalonians:  “Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.”  In this last section of Paul’s letter he begins with an exhortation for believers to live their lives in a way that pleases God.  I really hope this is important to you.  There seems to be a disconnect with some people here…as if they can say they believe in Jesus but live their lives any way they desire.  It just doesn’t work that way.  If you are not living in a way that would please God…or if you just don’t even think about that, something is definitely wrong. Tomorrow we’ll talk about the primary command that Paul emphasizes but please ask yourself if pleasing God in how you live is even on your radar.  If not, why not?
