The Son and Spirit

I decided that I would begin to include a link to youtube videos for each hymn if you would like to listen to the hymn instead of just reading the lyrics. Today’s hymn, There Is a Redeemer, is a hymn that has a great refrain: “Thank you O my Father, for giving us Your Son, and leaving Your Spirit til the work on earth is done”. There is a connection between the redeeming work of Jesus Christ and the day to day work of the Holy Spirit. We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Jesus is our Redeemer. But God’s work in our lives doesn’t stop there. In John chapter 14 Jesus promised the present and power of the Holy Spirit to guide us through each day. The Spirit has been “left” with us to complete the work that has begun. I hope that you have experienced the redeeming work of Jesus Christ and that you are experiencing the day to day ministry of the Holy Spirit; guiding you until your work is done.
