The Real Transformer

For a number of years the Transformer movie franchise was a huge success. About 30 years ago, the Transformer action figures were extremely popular. I recall frantically going from store to store with my dad trying to find a Transformer action figure for my sister. My dad thought early Christmas shopping was any shopping done before noon on Christmas Eve! I think the Transformer franchise has run its course but for a while the movies and accompanying action figures were incredibly popular.

In 2 Corinthians 3 Paul writes about a slightly more important transformation.   In verses 16-18 we read the following verses: 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. Paul is going back to a portion in the Old Testament where we are told that Moses’ face literally shone with the glory of the Lord after he had visited with the Lord in the tabernacle.   Moses would put a veil over his face because of this. Now in Christ, we are told that the veil is taken away and we have the opportunity to be transformed by the glory of God. We have the opportunity to reflect the glory of God that actually resides inside of us. This is the kind of transformation that benefits all of us. Have you invited God to transform you? Are you participating with Him in the glorious process of His transformation in your life?
