The Cloudy Day

This morning I went to the beach for my last sunrise of this trip before heading home later today.  And I saw nothing….nothing that is except clouds.  The clouds were so thick that there was no visible light at all from the sunrise.  I know the sun came over the horizon but the clouds blocked any view of the sun.   There have been some cloudy mornings here this week but this is the only time the sun wasn’t visible at all.

Ever had one of those days…or weeks…or months…or even years?  Have you had a period of time when the clouds roll in and just seem to block out your view of the “Son”?  Perhaps you are in one of those “weather patterns” of life right now.  I have encouraging news.  Even though you cannot see the Son, He is still very active in your life.  You may not be able to feel the warmth of His presence, but His presence is still there.  The Son is still sustaining your life.  He is still sovereignly active in your life in a powerful way.  And some day, though in some extreme cases it might be in eternity, those clouds will roll away and you will see the glory of the Son again.  In the famous words of Annie, “The sun will come out tomorrow…bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there’ll be sun”.  But even if the presence of God is not very visible to you right now, rest assured that He has not forgotten you.  He loves you.  He cares for you.  He has a plan….even in the cloudy day or days.
