The City of God

Ok, this very short psalm, Psalm 87, is a bit challenging to write on. There’s not much material here and what is here is about the love of God for His holy city, most likely a reference to Jerusalem. The city of Jerusalem played an extremely prominent role in the Old and New Testaments. Today, the city is still an important city in both religious and political circles; and according to biblical prophecy, many people believe that Jesus will establish His kingdom with the “capitol” of that kingdom in Jerusalem…that’s right, not Washington, D.C., or New York City. Cities are not important to God because of their architecture or geographic location; rather they are important to God because of His activity there and the people who reside there. Jerusalem has been and always will be an important city because of what God has done there and will do there in the future.
