Pure Words

In Psalm 12 David continues to write about the contrast between God’s goodness and man’s wickedness. In the middle of the psalm David writes about the purity of the words of God. Here is what he writes: The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times. You shall keep them, O Lord, You shall preserve them from this generation forever.   It is such a shame that the words of God are under such attack from progressive “scholars”. What we see time and time again are people writing things that are just not true and yet people believe it because they don’t take the time to check it out for themselves. Just because someone writes a book doesn’t mean he/she knows what he/she is talking about. The word of the Lord that we have in the Bible is inspired from God, not men. God has preserved them and will preserve them. Those who have abandoned them will not ultimately prevail. I encourage you to engage the words of God for yourself. Plenty of study tools are available for you to use. Cherish the amazing word of God. Question it initially if you need to; but don’t accept the words of those who deny its power and authority simply because they say so.
