Last Day of Blog

It is with a sad heart that I announce that today’s blog is the last one I will be writing. I can’t go into details as to why I am stopping but know that I have enjoyed writing these posts and hope you have enjoyed them as well. April Fool! Just kidding. I do appreciate the fact that you read this and I hope that we are helping each other in our walk with Jesus, or if you’re just sticking your toes into the prospect of faith, that the water is inviting and warm.

We are getting near the end of this incredible book called “Romans”. which is actually a letter that Paul wrote to a group of Jesus followers in that city and area. In Romans 15 Paul opens this chapter with some continuing thoughts from yesterday’s post. He has unity on his mind and exhorts us to consider one another. Here is a part of what he writes: For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. What I like about this section is that Paul writes that the Scriptures are the basis for being like minded with each other. The Scriptures are the foundation upon which we build our unity. Yes, there are sections of Scripture that people interpret differently but it is still possible to “with one mind and one mouth glorify the Lord”. But the basis needs to be the Scriptures, otherwise the unity and hope Paul writes about isn’t possible. If we have patience with one another, and are learning from the Scriptures, we’ll get there eventually.
