Jesus Your Intercessor

We are getting near the end of this amazing chapter of the Bible.  The next two verses reveal an interesting aspect to the eternal ministry of Jesus Christ. Here are verses 33-34:  “33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”  For the most part in my life I’ve never really been wrongly accused of something, outside of minor incidents.  I sympathize with those who have been wrongly accused of sin or a crime; especially in today’s world where accusations are often taken as truth and if the accusation is proven false, that exoneration rarely gets the same publicity.  Our verses point out that any accusation against a child of God, referred to here as “the elect” is pointless.  God has justified His elect and has no business hearing accusations against His own.  We are also told that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father and makes intercession for us.  I don’t exactly know what that is like; how Jesus actually intercedes for us.  But I think I like it.  As your intercessor Jesus Christ is involved in your life. He is an active Savior not a passive one.  I hope that you look to Him each and every day for His help and activity in your life.
