Have You Gone to the “Go-Between”?

In 1 Timothy 2 Paul writes some very interesting things to Timothy. He writes about the need to pray for all men, including those who are in political authority. I suspect if everyone prayed far more and “attacked” far less, our political system would be much more effective. Paul then says something that most people just seem unwilling to accept (see recent Senator Sanders diatribe at a recent Senate confirmation hearing). Paul writes: For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,   There is only one mediator between God and men and that mediator is Jesus Christ. There is no other way to receive forgiveness of sin, to make one righteous before God than through Jesus…not through Islam or Buddhism or Hinduism or atheism or “good worksism”. God does desire all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. But the truth originates in the heart of God not the mind of man. If you haven’t gone to the mediator then you are still dead in your sin. There’s just no other way to rationally interpret the Bible on salvation. I pray that you would go to the “go between” who graciously and without effort on your part will bridge the gap between you and the Father.
