God’s “Nutrients”

What kinds of “nutrients” are made available to us by our heavenly Father?  What are we supposed to be able to take in to give us strength?  We get a very important part of the answer to this question in Ephesians 3:16 where we read: that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,

God says that He will “grant” us the ability to be strengthened with might.  That sounds like a pretty good “nutrient” to me…how about you?  A couple of things to note here.  First, this ability is “granted” to us.  God gives it to us.  We don’t earn this right nor do we deserve it, but God graciously grants it to us.  Understand this helps us to appreciate more and more what God does for us.  Second, God’s ability to do this comes from the riches of His glory…I’m not exactly sure what the extent of “His glory” is, but I’m pretty sure it is more than what you and I need.  In other words, God’s tank is not going to run out.  There is not going to be a drought that will affect my root structure…at least not from God’s end of the bargain.  Third, this strengthening gives me “might”.  I’m not exactly sure what this means but I know that I want to have “might” and power.  I know that I need that in my life.

Finally, this “nutrient” comes to my “inner man”.  My “inner man” is in there somewhere, I’m quite sure of it.  (I wonder if it is a little like my “inner six pack abs” that are covered over by an inch of fat?)  It also seems likely to me that having my inner man strengthened will help my “outer man” to accomplish what “he” needs to accomplish.  I’m pretty sure that the inner man is the most important “man” that I have.  God works from the inside out in my life and probably in your life as well.

So, today, please be reminded that God has all the nutrients that you need to grow spiritually.  It is God’s desire to give you everything that you need…and more.  Drink it in!
