A Real “Pick Me Up” Psalm

If you need to read something that can help to pick up your attitude then Psalm 96 is exactly what the doctor ordered. The rhythm of this little psalm is about praise from the beginning. Each paragraph is full of reasons to praise God. Here is the second paragraph: “For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens.Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.” If you are open to it, I think that paragraphs like that can put a “quiver in your liver”. Our God, the God of the Bible, the God revealed in the person of Jesus Christ is above all gods, in fact, there are no other real gods, just the idols made by people. “Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary”. God’s presence is full of both strength and beauty. He has all the bases covered. When you think that things are going down the tubes or when you need to be reminded of Who the God you serve is, I suggest reading Psalm 96.
