A Divine Review Lesson

Psalm 105 is a review lesson. Psalm 105 “flies over” God’s activity in the lives of Israel from the Abrahamic covenant to the people being delivered from the nation of Egypt. This psalm reviews the faithfulness of God over a large span of time. I think it is helpful for us to take time to review what God has done in our lives. If you get stuck during prayer, not knowing what to say, consider taking some time to just review with God what He has done in your life and/or the lives of those you love. There is another interesting thing about this psalm in that it never mentions the rebellion of the people. It doesn’t mention how they complained and whined while they were in the wilderness, even wanting to go back to Egypt at one point. All of that is just glossed over here. I’d like to think that is how God looks at us. In psalm 103 we read this: “as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us”. Human beings struggle with putting sin behind them, with forgiveness and mercy, but God doesn’t struggle with it. In this psalm we are reminded that God is faithful and for that I am grateful. I hope you are as well.
