Westernport Mission Sharing

The below video is from our Alleluia Hour on September 7, 2014.

Since 2014 we have made a summer trip to Westernport, MD to work with the Westernport Church of the Brethren in a week long vacation Bible school.  We also have two one day trips during the year.  We are able to help Westernport Church of the Brethren serve over 80 children with the gospel of Jesus Christ, games, food and great impressions of the church there.

Arizona Mission

We encourage everyone to continue to pray for Pastor Marcus and Tina James at Faith Assembly Church in Holbrook Arizona. We provided VBS, Adult Bible study and did a variety of construction projects to facilitate their ministry to the Navajo people. Each year for over ten years teams traveled to Arizona to offer support and encouragement and to help spread the Word.

Camp Eder

Our district church camp located a short distance south of Gettysburg, offers a wonderful way for children and youth to experience God in a beautiful outdoor setting. We send support to this ministry and encourage our children and youth to sign-up for a variety of summer camps.

Children’s Aid Society

Rooted in the Southern PA District Church of the Brethren. It is committed to helping children and their families build stronger, healthier lives through compassionate and professional services. We support this ministry through our budget and through Sunday school offerings during Material Gifts Month in May.

Community Aid Bin

Clothing and soft household goods can be placed in the Community Aid bin located in the back parking lot. Your donations go directly to the Community Aid store in Shamokin Dam (the old Value City store). Plus, your donations help to generate monies that are used by the Mission Team to support various mission-sponsored events!

Dominican Republic Mission

At Buffalo Valley we want to take the gospel to the whole world. In 2015 we began a relationship with our fellow Brethren churches in the Dominican Republic. Our annual trips in February are designed to build relationships with our Dominican brothers and sisters in Christ while also assisting in the construction of church facilities.  We have been able to assist in the construction of two new church buildings and make much needed additions and improvements to three others.

Expectations Women’s Center

This center’s purpose is empowering individuals & transforming lives through the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Their services include pregnancy testing, options counseling, mentoring services, material assistance, abstinence/healthy relationships presentations in schools and churches, post abortion counseling and relationship mentoring for male and female. We support Expectations with a yearly baby bottle drive and our church budget.

Local Emergency Assistance Fund

To help support the needs of our local community we support the Mifflinburg Food Pantry and West End Bible Fellowship. The Mifflinburg Food Pantry, which is held in partnership with the Community Action Agency, is located in the Mifflinburg YMCA. Food distribution is held on the third Friday of every month. For information regarding the Food Pantry, please call the Community Action Agency at 1-877-497-1257. West End Bible Fellowship meets needs through clothing distribution, food and help with basic bills according to established guidelines.

Meat Canning

Every spring Brethren from the Mid Atlantic and Southern Pennsylvania districts travel to Christian Aid Ministries in Ephrata, Pennsylvania for a week of meat canning. Chicken is processed and canned for distribution to areas of need around the world and in the United States. We also support this project through our budget.
