Westernport Mission
Since 2014 we have made a summer trip to Westernport, MD to work with the Westernport Church of the Brethren in a week long vacation Bible school. We are able to help Westernport Church of the Brethren serve over 80 children with the gospel of Jesus Christ, games, food and great impressions of the church there.
Camp Eder
Our District church camp located a short distance south of Gettysburg offers a wonderful way for children and youth to experience God in a beautiful outdoor setting. We send support to this ministry and encourage our children and youth to sign-up for a variety of summer camps. Scholarships are available to help offset the cost of camp for all those who attend Buffalo Valley.
Children’s Aid Society
Rooted in the Southern PA District Church of the Brethren, Children’s Aid Society is committed to helping children and their families build stronger, healthier lives through compassionate and professional services. We support this ministry through our budget and donations of materials each month in May.
Community Aid Bin
Clothing and soft household goods can be placed in the Community Aid bin located in the back parking lot. Your donations go directly to the Community Aid store in Shamokin Dam (the old Value City store). Plus, your donations help to generate monies that are used by the Mission Team to support various mission-sponsored events!
Dominican Republic Mission
At Buffalo Valley we want to take the gospel to the whole world. In 2015 we began a relationship with our fellow Brethren churches in the Dominican Republic. Our annual trips in February are designed to build relationships with our Dominican brothers and sisters in Christ while also assisting in the construction of church facilities. We have been able to assist in the construction of two new church buildings and make much needed additions and improvements to three others. We have not embarked on these trips since 2019 but hope to get back to the Dominican Republic soon.
Cultivo Ministries
Cultivo Ministries is an agricultural ministry that serves people in the provinces of San Juan and Elias Piña, Dominican Republic. Its mission is to transform the lives of Dominican farmers by teaching them about God, His son as Savior, and modern/syntropic farming techniques for small farms. These farming methods can help improve food production which provides more nutrients and more income for impoverished farm families.
